Silicone adhesive (silicone glue) is a high-performance adhesive based on organosilicon compounds. One-component types cure via moisture, while two-component types cure with the aid of a catalyst. It features excellent flexibility, resistance to high and low temperatures, UV/ozone resistance, weatherability, and electrical insulation properties. However, its mechanical strength is much lower than that of epoxy resins and polyurethanes. It is suitable for sealing, gap filling, and elastic bonding, but not for high-strength structural bonding.
