Definition
Acrylic adhesives are adhesives with acrylate or methacrylate monomers as the main raw materials. Their curing process is achieved through free radical polymerization, which can be initiated by various methods.

Second-Generation Acrylic Adhesives (SGA / Reactive Acrylics): Two-component, but no precise mixing is required. Typically, the initiator is applied to one bonding surface and the accelerator to the other. When the two surfaces are joined, the initiator and accelerator come into contact at the interface, triggering monomer polymerization and curing.
Anaerobic Adhesives: One-component. They cure only under oxygen-free conditions (e.g., gaps in tight-fitting metal threads) and with metal ion catalysis, remaining liquid in air. Specifically designed for thread locking, sealing, and bearing retention.
Ultraviolet (UV)-Curable Acrylics: One-component. The adhesive contains photoinitiators, which enable rapid curing within seconds to tens of seconds when irradiated with ultraviolet light of a specific wavelength. Featuring ultra-fast curing and no pollution, they are ideal for automated production. A drawback is their inability to bond opaque materials.
Cyanoacrylate Adhesives (CA): One-component. Commonly known as "instant adhesives," they undergo instant curing via anionic polymerization initiated by trace moisture on the object surface. They have the fastest curing speed but are relatively brittle, with poor temperature and water resistance.
α-Cyanoacrylates (Modified Instant Adhesives): Cure via anionic polymerization initiated by trace moisture on the object surface, achieving ultra-rapid curing.

Combination of Rapid Curing and High Strength: Integrates the high strength of epoxy resins and the fast curing speed of instant adhesives.
Resistance to Oil-Contaminated Surfaces: One of the few structural adhesives that can be directly used on mildly contaminated metal surfaces.
High Peel and Impact Strength: Performance superior to epoxy resins and close to polyurethane adhesives.
